Tabletop Role Playing Games and Communal Storytelling

About the Project

This is an anthropological study of tabletop role playing games. This means that I’m interested in studying people, and how people who play these games, host these games, love these games, and even listen to these games, feel about their relationship to others and themselves through their experiences playing.  I’m interested to hear from anyone and everyone who interacts with tabletop games, regardless of the style of game or the way you interact.

Partake in the Research

If you wish to help the research project directly by taking part, you can sign up for an interview! Interviews are typically around an hour, though can be longer if you have the time and are willing, and the conversation is flowing.

All participants will be anonymised.

The interview is only recorded if you consent to it being recorded. Only I will have access to the interview, and all personal information will not be shared with others.

If you do not consent to answering a particular question, simply say so and we will move on. You do not have to have to answer anything you do not wish to.

If you wish to withdraw your consent, you may at any time before, during and after the interview. Simply tell me you withdraw your consent, and I will delete all information I have from your interview. You do not need to provide a reason you withdraw your consent - no is a complete sentence.

If you wish to sign up for an interview, you can sign up for a slot through Zoom using the link below. If you prefer to arrange another kind of conversation, you can message me at second link to arrange another form of interview. I have done interviews through messaging on emails or DMs, and have also arranged in person interviews. The most important thing for me is that you are comfortable, so I am happy to arrange the most suitable situation for you.
